Introducing Auberge Insiders Travel Connoisseur Jacey Duprie’s Guide to Los Cabos, Mexico

Jour 1
Morning | Land and head to Lunch at La Palapa
The beauty of Cabo is its such a quick flight from Los Angeles. After dropping our bags, I like to head immediately to the ocean-front La Palapa, for a round of Cabo-Green Margaritas for the adults and tacos for all.
From there, we rolled over to the Margarita pool for an afternoon of sun and splash.
Evening | Sunset Beach Picnic
I like to kick off trips with a festive first night to really get everyone into the vacation mindset. Nothing beats an al-fresco dinner at sunset complete with a beach bonfire and chef’s menu. The kids can run around while the parents soak in the scene.
Jour 2
Morning | Spend the Day on the Beach
If you’re seeking the perfect start to your day, I highly recommend spending the morning at two-story beach palapa. Think a delicious breakfast followed by fun beach games and popsicles on the beach throughout the day – it’s the ultimate treat.
Evening | Blue Agave Journey at Alma
You can’t miss the tasting experiences at Alma. My favorite is the Blue Agave Journey, the perfect chance to learn about the rich history of tequila, explore the differences with mezcal, and savor delicious bottles with amazing views of the Esperanza Cliffs.
Soirée | Dîner chez YAYA
One of the best things about Esperanza is the easy access to our other favorite Cabo stay, Chileno Bay. Yaya at Chileno Bay is one of my favorites – the food is amazing, and I’ve had some of the best girls’ nights there. The house-made ricotta is a must-try.
Jour 3
Morning | Pilates at The Spa Esperanza
While the kids head to Tortuguitas Kids Club for craft time (Piñata making is a favorite), the moms head to the gym for reformer pilates or a variety of daily complimentary classes, ranging from dance classes to TRX and yoga. I also recommend going on a morning hike, offering stunning views of the famous Los Cabos Arch.
Afternoon | Lunch and Bocce at Las Estrellas
You can’t go wrong with Las Estrellas and the signature coconut margarita. The vibe is refined, relaxed, and has breezy, cozy seating. Linger for a few rounds of bocce on the charming, tree lined court.
When we feel like exploring, we’ll pop into the charming town of San Jose del Cabo for an afternoon strolling the galleries and boutiques of the Art’s District. La Botica Bazaar is a hidden gem.
Soirée | Dîner à la Cocina del Mar
Dinner at Cocina del Mar at sunset is a must. I always start with lobster tacos to share, followed by the grilled octopus – it’s simply unbeatable – and a crisp cocktail to complement the flavors.
